Wishing for a happy, healthy and prosperous new year of the dragon for you and your family this coming year. Chinese New Year is an ancient celebration that marks the beginning of a new lunar cycle and culturally represents a rebirth, full of deep-rooted traditions and ancestral symbolism. My family and I usually have dinner the night of new years eve and then go to the temple on new years day. If you’re looking for one to visit, Ling Yen Mountain Temple in Richmond is beautiful.
Happy New Year! I hope that you and your family had a restful holiday season filled with joy and good food. We sure did as we spent all of Christmas Day eating and lounging around with family. I must apologize as this edition of Neighbours is a little late this month as it’s been quite busy with another project I am working on. It’s coming together and I am so excited to be able to share it with you in the next couple of months. Thank you for following along my journey.
When thinking of which neighbourhood to write about for the holiday season, many places came to mind but didn’t feel right. I wanted to choose somewhere that you would want to spend a cold snowy day at, and Fort Langley is the perfect place. Imagine a small town Hallmark Christmas movie where boy meets girl and they go through some drama but fall in love with each other. Let’s skip out the drama and just celebrate the holiday season in a cute local community. If you’re planning on some Christmas shopping, let’s do it locally and support small businesses.
